Abstract

Introduction: Patients following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) are at risk of having low levels of knowledge and poor medication adherence, which may increase complications and 30-day readmission rates. Objective: To analyze the effect of the Android-based PCI Care application on knowledge, medication adherence, and readmission among PCI patients in a hospital in West Java. Methods: This quantitative quasi-experimental study used a post-test only control group design involving 140 respondents divided into intervention and control groups using consecutive sampling. Data were collected using a knowledge questionnaire, the MMAS-8, and 30-day readmission observation, then analyzed using Chi-Square and logistic regression tests. Results: The PCI Care application had a significant effect on improving knowledge and medication adherence in the intervention group compared to the control group (p=0.000). No readmissions occurred in the intervention group, while two readmission cases were found in the control group; however, the difference was not statistically significant (p>0.05). Conclusion: PCI Care effectively improves patient self-care through structured education and reminder features for medication schedules and routine follow-up after PCI.
