Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are disorders affecting muscles, bones, joints, tendons, and ligaments that commonly occur among logistics workers due to manual handling activities. Ergonomic risk factors such as work posture, workload, work duration, and repetitive movements are suspected to be associated with MSD complaints. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between ergonomic risk factors and MSD complaints and to identify the most dominant factor among logistics workers at PT. X.This study employed a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 109 workers selected using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate (Chi-Square test), and multivariate analyses (logistic regression). The study results indicate that 68.8% of respondents experienced MSD complaints. Bivariate analysis revealed significant associations between MSD complaints and work posture (PR; 95% CI; p=0.003), workload (p=0.000), and repetitive movements (p=0.001), whereas work duration showed no significant association (p=0.068). Multivariate analysis demonstrated that work posture was the most dominant risk factor associated with MSD complaints (PR=9.905; 95% CI=2.552–38.449).It can be concluded that work posture, workload, and repetitive movements are significantly associated with MSD complaints, while work duration is not. Therefore, companies are encouraged to strengthen the implementation of ergonomic practices in the workplace to reduce the risk of MSDs among logistics workers.
